Chocolate City Burlesque and Cabaret

Chocolate City Burlesque and Cabaret (CCBC) was a Washington, DC-based burlesque and variety troupe founded in 2014 by Chè Monique and Dainty Dandridge to preserve and diffuse the art and history of Black burlesque, cabaret, sideshow, and variety performance. The troupe created a rare space centering Black performers and audiences, quickly becoming a fixture of DC nightlife with packed bi-annual shows at the GALA Hispanic Theatre.

The company has shared stages with legends like Toni Elling ("the Satin Doll," Duke Ellington's muse), cementing its place as one of the most significant Black-led burlesque companies in the country.
